Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information HomeWise collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you’re a California resident, see the “Your privacy rights” section below for your rights under the CCPA.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist or use the qualifier tool, we collect:

• Your email address
• ZIP code, utility provider, home ownership status, home age, cooling type, household size, and income range, if you provide them — used only to match you to rebate programs
• Basic usage data (pages viewed, referring source) via PostHog analytics, to understand how the site is used

We never ask for financial account numbers, SSNs, or passwords on this site.

How we use it

• To match you with rebate and savings programs you may qualify for
• To send you the emails you sign up for — a welcome email when you join the waitlist, launch updates, and (if relevant programs exist for your area) new opportunity alerts
• To improve the site and qualifier accuracy

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with utility companies or third parties for their own marketing.

Email & unsubscribing

Every email from HomeWise includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it removes you from future emails immediately. We keep a suppression list so we don’t accidentally re-add an unsubscribed address.

Cookies & analytics

We use PostHog to understand aggregate site usage. We strip sensitive query-string data (like ZIP or income answers) before it’s sent to PostHog.

Data retention

We keep waitlist and qualifier data for as long as your account or waitlist entry is active, or until you ask us to delete it.

Your privacy rights (California residents)

Under the CCPA, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we’ve collected about you
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale of personal information — we don’t sell it, so there’s nothing to opt out of

Children’s privacy

HomeWise is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update the effective date above when this policy changes, and post the update here.
